McChrystal is Writing a Book

This probably shouldn't be a surprise to anyone: Gen. Stanley McChrsytal "has quietly signed on with Washington uber-literary agent Robert Barnett to write a book about his experiences," Marc Ambinder reports.

"According to a source close to the general, McChrystal does not plan to write about his penultimate career event -- when he was fired for intemperate comments made by his subordinates about the President. Instead, the book will focus on leadership lessons and wisdom that one can apply from the battlefield to life. In the Army, McChrystal was known as a constant innovator and a command 'flattener' who discouraged rank-pulling and encouraged sharing and tactical experimentation."
